Laryngeal Manual Therapy & Myofascial Release

Laryngeal Manual Therapy and Myofascial release are techniques used to treat muscle tension disorders of the throat and involves gentle manipulation of the muscles surrounding the larynx and throat. It can be very effective at reducing throat discomfort and restoring normal voice for people with excessive muscle tension.

Excessive muscle tension in the throat can occur in response to stress and anxiety or it can occur as a consequence of a physical problem within the throat such as acid reflux or paralysis of the vocal cords. Your ENT surgeon and Speech & Language Therapist will be able to advise you on the possible causes of your muscle tension disorder and how to avoid recurrence following treatment.
